From a friend in California:
“On another note, what a weird day … Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson? You know you live in a new world when Facebook delivers more up-to-date news than CNN and NPR, which confirmed the death after a million Facebook notifications. And right now I can literally hear 4 different MJ songs playing from different neighbors, someone has ‘Thriller’ on repeat,* and my immediate next door neighbors are outside group singing ‘Beat It’ at the top of their lungs. Sometime living in Oakland is the best decision I’ve ever made.”
* The occupant of studio #507 in Industry City was also listening to ‘Thriller’ on repeat earlier this evening, as noted while en route to another friend’s space.
