I just began reading First As Tragedy, Then As Farce (late on this one, yes), Slavoj Žižek’s take on the financial crisis, roughly summarized by RSA in this formidable book trailer video. Normally, I’m all like, “enough with the book trailer videos!” But here, not as much.
Also, Žižek and Alain Badiou are giving a talk at Jack Tilton Gallery today, October 15th, at 7 pm. The subject, of course, is Communism and Philosophy, and I predict that the weather (not to mention the gallery’s situation a scant block from my office) will make this one a solid contender.
