A warm welcome to the Internet for East of Borneo, Cal Arts’ just-now-launched art journal/multimedia archive edited by Dean Thomas Larson and Stacey Allen, which I have been anticipating for ages—or, more precisely, since I happened to meet Allen while she was manning the Afterall booth at NY Art Book Fair; I recall our sharing a similar position regarding the usefulness of art reviews. (In short: more often than not? Not-so-useful. Admit it!) She briefly enumerated plans for what has since become East of Borneo and I thought to myself, in a word: yes.
