As predicted, the “the Umlaut and the Acute accented ones” Sigur Rós and Björk killed it in Reykjavik yesterday, at a Náttúra concert produced to raise awareness about aluminum smelting and Icelandic topography (the two do not go hand-in-hand). Björk even looks a bit like her old, pre-Barney self here— a rather perfect collaborator for the title track, “Gobbledigook.” Tragic name for an album, yes. Aimed at an American audience that can’t cope with croissant, let alone IKEA, however, perhaps “Gobbledigook” is less whimsical a title than Björk’s manic drumming might suggest.
